Kaduthuruthy: In recognition of outstanding achievements at the National Kickboxing Championship held in Jaipur, Rajasthan, the Nithya Sahayakan Trust honored double gold medal winners and their coach with mementos, cash awards, and ceremonial shawls (ponnadas).
Sharon Santhosh, a Plus Two student from Kallara, won two gold medals at the national competition, making her community proud. To celebrate her remarkable feat, the Trust presented her with a cash award, memento, and ponnada during a special visit to her home. Sharon is the daughter of K.P. Santhosh, a kickboxing trainer with 38 years of experience, and Biji of Kurichiparambil, Kallara. Her brother, Shaun, is also a national-level champion in the men’s category for the past eight years.
In addition to Sharon, the Trust also honored Dr. Anu Jishnu, a medical officer at Koodalloor Government Primary Health Centre, who is also a national-level double gold medalist in kickboxing. Despite her demanding profession, Dr. Anu managed to train rigorously and excel in the sport, with full support from her husband, Jishnu.
Dr. Anu also trains under K.P. Santhosh, who runs the kickboxing academy “Ya Olan” at Vayaskarakunnu, Kottayam, where many aspiring athletes receive professional training.
The Trust team visited Koodalloor PHC to honor Dr. Anu with a ponnada and memento. Coach Santhosh was also felicitated for his years of dedicated service and contribution to building champions.
Participating in the honors ceremony on behalf of the Trust were President Anil Joseph, Secretary Sindhu V.K., Surendran K.K., Thomas Anchampil, Jaison Palayil, Jomin Chalil, Albin Thottuveliparambil, Elsamma Pallattuparambil, Soumya, Chackochen Kuryanthadam, and James Kavatthuparambil.
