Njeezhoor: In a proud moment for Njeezhoor, the Kalari Payattu team led by Shri P.G. Shaji Asan, operating from Njeezhoor, brought home a remarkable 20 gold medals from the 6th State-Level Kalari Championship, with 15 young champions making their mark on the state stage.
Heartfelt congratulations were extended to Shaji Asan and his life partner Suja, whose dedicated training and disciplined guidance were key factors behind the team’s stellar performance.
In recognition of this outstanding achievement, members of the Nithya Sahayakan Trust visited the P.G.S. Kalari headquarters in Njeezhoor to honor the team. All 15 medal-winning students received mementos, and both Shaji Asan and Suja were felicitated with shawls and commemorative tokens.
Representing the Trust were Anil Joseph, Surendran K.K., Sindhu Anil, Jayashree, Paul Mankuzhikkari, Jaison Palayil, Chackochen Kuryanthadam, James Kavatthuparambil, Ananya, and Anjelo.
From the Kalari team, the following students joined in receiving honors alongside their teacher and mentor:
Ashwin Shaji, Amal Biju, Ashiq P. Beemon, Ashley P. Beemon, Deekshith, Aaron, Anton, Alan Babu, Sreeram Sreehari, Advaith, Atul, Arjun, Karthika, Hanna, and Ananth Krishnan.
Trust President Anil Joseph expressed deep admiration and affection for the young students, especially those who are now actively supporting Shaji Asan in training the next generation of Kalari athletes.
