The newly married bride and groom together took responsibility, as one, for Vilāsini Amma, who was lying weak and helpless, and brought her to Nithya Sahayakan’s Amma Veedu, which serves as both a home and a shelter for the destitute, on the very day after their wedding.
Kaduthuruthy: Arjun Thaikkootathil, the Social Media Coordinator of Nithya Sahayakan Trust, and Porthima, a caretaker who looks after the mothers at the Amma Veedu destitute home, were married a few days ago. The very next day after their marriage, they took the initiative and led this noble act of taking this mother under their care.
Vilāsini, wife of the late Kuttappan, from Thottamchira House in Ward 1 of Kurooppada Panchayat, was admitted to the Amma Veedu of Nithya Sahayakan Trust, Njeezhoor. After the death of her husband, Vilāsini was left alone and bedridden, with no one to care for her. Following the request of V. M. Mathew Vayalunkal, Ward Member of Kurooppada Panchayat (Ward 1), and Soji Joseph, a member of the Palliative Care team, she was taken from Kuravilangad Chaitanya Hospital, in the presence of Babu and Vinod.
Trust President Anil Joseph, Secretary Sindhu V. K., Thomas Anchampil, Surendra K. K., Jomin Chaalil, Jayashree, and nurses Reetha Jaison and Saimy Sinju accompanied the bride and groom to the hospital to receive and bring the mother into care.
