After the death of her husband, a mother who was left alone, bedridden, and living in a rented house was taken under care by Nithya Sahayakan’s Amma Veedu.
Njeezhoor: Thankan Chettan, who had been living in a rented house at Pathicheri Colony, Ward 15 of the Grama Panchayat, passed away as he was unable to continue life due to various illnesses and extreme poverty. His life partner, Thankamma, was left bedridden and helpless. Deeply distressed and heartbroken, Thankan Chettan succumbed to death, and his passing left Thankamma completely destitute.
Upon learning about Thankamma’s condition, which was worsened by severe poverty and hardship, Njeezhoor Grama Panchayat President Cherian K. Jose informed Nithya Sahayakan Trust. Accordingly, Trust President Anil Joseph and Amma Veedu Secretary Sindhu V. K. visited the bedridden elderly woman’s home to understand the situation firsthand. After confirming her dire condition, the Trust workers brought the mother to the Amma Veedu destitute home in the Trust’s ambulance.
The effort to receive and admit her was led by Panchayat President Cherian K. Jose, Surendran K. K., Coordinator Arjun Thaikkootathil, Prothima Arjun, Jaison Pala, G. Jo George, Reetha Jaison, and Saimy Sinju.
